We finally managed to get our Christmas signs photographed and posted to our Etsy shop today. Whew!
Here are a few behind the scenes shots of our photo session today!
Thanks for dropping by!!
Happy holidays!
We’re kicking Christmas into gear!
This is just a sample of some of the mini sign designs I’m working on today! We’ll have these posted within the next couple of days!
We have a good problem right now! We’re super busy!!
It’s late at night and we’re both working on orders. Ron is downstairs painting a new batch of 48 mini signs and I’m upstairs cutting signs on the laser and creating new designs for Christmas.
Totally loving life right now and feeling extremely lucky that we get to do what we’re passionate about!
We have these little dudes and so many more in our Fall/Halloween section.
Thanks for dropping by and Happy Fall, Ya’ll!
We've been incredibly lucky to have a steady stream of orders coming in for our tiered tray signs. It feels like every time we turn around, we hear the chime of the new order bell on our phones!
I wanted to share how our latest custom order turned out before too much more time passed!
I regret not getting more photos of her before we shipped her off, but I really think she came out lovely!
Hope everyone is having a wonderful summer! Thanks for dropping by!
Almost as if to get us even more excited about our annual beach trip, we received a beach themed custom order this week!
I can hardly wait to share this one once it’s done!
So guess which sign is our most popular sign to date???
That’s right... this little fella is super popular right now!
We’re in assembly line mode with our little “Pour Some Sugar On Me” signs. We love seeing these orders come through. We even have one of these little signs in our own coffee bar. This is my kind of humor!
It’s beautiful here in Long Valley, NJ this weekend! Thank goodness the studio and wood shop can be opened up to let the sunshine in! Having only lived here a little under two years and being from TX we still marvel that we can open the windows in July! That’s just nuts to us!
Franklin is inspecting the work environment for safety.
Stanley holds down the fort under the table usually. He’s a good customer service rep for sure!
Ron is hard at work this weekend in the wood shop (aka garage) making more tiered tray signs. They are selling like hot cakes and we want to make sure we have enough in stock to be able to ship them the second they’re ordered!
As always, thanks for dropping in to see what we’re up to!
I’ve been working on creating more tiered tray signs this past week.
They are super fun to make!
These signs measure 5.5w x 3.5h and are perfect for adding to tiered trays or small shelf spaces!
These designs and many more will be added to our shop tomorrow!
Have a happy and safe Independence Day!
We’re having a little heat wave here in NJ... which means there is no batter time to make signs! Here are a few of the latest projects added to our Etsy shop recently.
These little bamboo spoons are perfect for your coffee bar! Hey can be engraved with your favorite saying. Check them out in the shop HERE.
We’ve also been making mini signs that you can used on tiered trays or in special little places in your home! You can check those out HERE under the Mini Signs category.
These little fellas are super special and lightly distressed. They are laser engraved for extremely crisp letting and designs.
That’s all for today! Thanks for dropping by and have a wonderful 4th of July!
We’ve got a few of our signs for Independence Day almost ready to post and I wanted to give you some sneak peeks into how they’re coming along!
This is one of my faves to date! It’s a TON of work to stencil and clean up - but totally worth it! I’m going to be painting and distressing the stars before it complete!
I’m debating leaving this one alone or adding a little something to it. I need to live with it a few more days before I decide!
My favorite part about this sign is hands down the wood grain. Ron and I both agree it’s such a compliment to the sentiment!
That’s all for now! As soon as these fellas have been finished I’ll post a few links to the signs in our Etsy shop so you can check them out!
Have a terrific week!
After several weeks of hard work, Ron and I finally re-opened our Etsy shop! If you've ever opened or maintained an online shop before, you'll know that it's almost as much work as making the stuff to put in it!
I had a blast making the banner for the shop over the weekend. I got to play around with fun watercolor flowers and textured wood and paper elements. It's almost as much fun as creating 3D art as well!
We managed to open up with 48 items (our goal is to get to around 150 eventually). Now we have to tackle the other part of working an online shop - the social and marketing side of things. We're going to have to tag team that during our down time at night and on weekends and stay after it if we're going to actually get sales!
We've managed to list all of the wooden houses we've made and nearly all of the signs as well. We have about 10 more signs to photograph and will get those posted by this weekend!
Thanks so much for dropping by and for checking out our little SHOP.
Have a terrific week ahead!
Lolly & Ron
Hello, everyone! Lolly here. This weekend Ron and I are going to be hard at work in the studio and I thought it would be fun to share a few behind the scenes photos that highlight how we make our little houses!
For the latest little house design I wanted laser cut windows and doors. I started by drawing them in Adobe Illustrator.
Then I send the design to the laser to be cut from 1/8 inch birch plywood. I did a few test cuts to make sure everything would be cut properly before diving in to cutting the whole 24x12 inch piece of wood!
Once they are all cut I have to sand all of the smoke and sap marks from the front of the little windows and doors. Thankfully, we have a little Dremel plunge router stand to make this task much easier!!!
Once that’s all done it’s just a matter of mixing, matching and gluing the windows and doors to the already cut, sanded, waxed and buffed little house shapes (which is a whole different effort all unto itself!!!).
That’s all for today! I hope you’ve enjoyed these little behind the scenes peaks into our operation. Back to work I go! Thanks for dropping in!
We’re busy getting everything ready to re-open our online store. We’ve been photographing products, writing listings and setting up our shipping and packing station.
We managed to also get a few new signs made this week as well.
These two little farmhouse signs are a combination of laser engraving, staining and decoupage.
... and we made this special sign for all the moms out there just in time for Mother’s Day!
We’re all set up with our new display shelves in our little booth at the Scranberry Coop!
I love that we can lay them out at different heights and depths given that we have such a tiny little booth spot!
We spent the day yesterday cutting, sanding and staining a new batch of little houses!
I’m thinking about doing something a little different with these fellas. I’ll be sure to post more pics next week once I get it all worked out.
Hope you’re enjoying spring in your neck of the woods! Thanks for dropping by!
We had a super productive week last week! Ron finished constructing his dust collection system and I made several new signs and finished up the design and creation for our new little block houses.
He spent a couple of weeks researching how dust collection systems work and finding parts. He built stands for the tubing and got PVC components at our local home improvement store.
We can connect the belt sander and jigsaw that sits on another table at the back of the garage as needed. It will make working in here much cleaner!
I also wanted to share what the back of our signs looks like. We engrave our logo and URL on the back of every sign. We also router a keyhole for easy leveling and hanging. Each of our signs comes with a drywall anchor and screw that works perfectly with the keyhole. Our hope is this little extra step will make hanging one of our signs super simple!
Finally, here are a few sneak peeks of the block houses we’ve been working on. You can find more pics of them on our Instagram HERE. I have tons more designs in the works and will be sharing them here and on our Instagram as well!
Thanks for dropping by!
We’re headed to the Scranberry Coop to set up our booth today! I wanted to share a few pics of the final prep from the past week.
Stained and cut frame pieces hanging out to dry.
Rons version of a woodshop text message.
And finally - we’re in! We still have 5 more signs ready to go but in the drying phase! I’ve got a few custom orders coming up so the focus this week will be on those! Will share more pics and updates soon!
Drop by the Scranberry Coop at 42 Main Street, Andover NJ. Map link here.
We wrapped up new signs for the shop this weekend and wanted to share a couple with you today!
We spent this past week working on a new painting technique for our painted signs. We spent a few nights watching YouTube videos and created samples until we landed on what worked best! This isn’t the greatest picture, but we’re both pretty excited with how crisp the letters are coming out!
The welcome sign with trees is also finished! We cut the trees from Baltic birch and also cut matching paper to cover them. The layers of trees with the lightly stained birch welcome lettering is a killer combination. I can’t wait to see how this sign does in the shop.
That’s all for today! Happy spring!
Working on a 43 inch “Welcome” sign with some lovely trees. Ron stained and cut boards for us today while I worked on the design files.
We’re also working on some bear ideas for kids rooms. RAWR!!!
Maybe this little whale sign will swim it’s way into your heart?
These fellas and more will be in the shop when open next weekend.
Thanks for dropping by!
