Hello, everyone! Lolly here. This weekend Ron and I are going to be hard at work in the studio and I thought it would be fun to share a few behind the scenes photos that highlight how we make our little houses!
For the latest little house design I wanted laser cut windows and doors. I started by drawing them in Adobe Illustrator.
Then I send the design to the laser to be cut from 1/8 inch birch plywood. I did a few test cuts to make sure everything would be cut properly before diving in to cutting the whole 24x12 inch piece of wood!
Once they are all cut I have to sand all of the smoke and sap marks from the front of the little windows and doors. Thankfully, we have a little Dremel plunge router stand to make this task much easier!!!
Once that’s all done it’s just a matter of mixing, matching and gluing the windows and doors to the already cut, sanded, waxed and buffed little house shapes (which is a whole different effort all unto itself!!!).
That’s all for today! I hope you’ve enjoyed these little behind the scenes peaks into our operation. Back to work I go! Thanks for dropping in!
